Cheer
Riverland Cheer teams do not cheer for other sports teams.... They are the TEAM!!! All Star cheerleading is a competition sport that involves females and/or males performing a 2 minute & 30 second routine composed of stunting, pyramids, group tumbling, jumping and a dance break. This routine is performed and scored against other competitive teams at various local, regional, national, and worldwide competitions.
Riverland Cheer is currently on a break for 2023, please contact us to register your interest for the 2024 season.

November 2019
It’s been such a great first year for our cheerleading team with some amazing results at the three competitions we attended. In August we attended a two day competition where we competed once on each day. The team really put it together on second day and came home with a very surprise win. From there we took the judges feedback and went back into the gym to implement the recommendations. In September we attended the South Australian State Championships. All of the hard work really paid off with a first place in our division (senior level 1) as well as the third highest level one score for any team on the day. And a final competition in early November we faced our toughest challenge yet, competing against some very strong teams that are all heading off to the nationals in Queensland later this month. Luck didn’t quite go our way this time but we still came home with a very respectable sixth place less than two points behind the winner in our division. Now we have just one performance left for the year at the end of year presentation night and we can’t wait to show everybody back at home what we’ve been working so hard on this year. At the presentation night we will also be taking registrations of interest for cheerleading in 2020. If you’re interested make sure you catch up with us then.
August 2019
The Riverland’s very first All Star Cheerleading team attended their very first competition on the 3rd & 4th of August 2019. The ‘All Things Cheer Showdown’ was the first competition of its kind here in South Australia. It was held at The Adelaide Convention Centre with premium sound, lighting and stage quality. All staff were friendly and amazing. Another first was that teams had the opportunity to perform their routines twice, this has never happened before in our state.
With credit to Riverland Gymnastics Academy, our team embraced this new sport, all its challenges, overcame setbacks and worked incredibly hard to improve on their routine and skills over the 2 days.
This determination resulted in the team putting a near faultless performance on the floor and in an effort to better their own score they unexpectedly came away with a win in the Senior Level 1 division against some very strong competition! They also won one of 4 invitations to the All Things Cheer Competition in Perth, 2020.
Our Onyx should be so very proud of themselves! A big thank you also needs to go to the family and friends that supported our team and helped to bring home this dream result!
